IPL Schedule 2024 – Match Dates, Fixtures, Venues, Points Table
The Indian Premier League was established by the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) in 2007. Generally the IPL kicks off on march. This year, the IPL 2024 season is likely to unfold between March 22nd and April 7th. IPL governing council chairman Arun Dhumal has already informed that schedules may change due to the Lok Sabha Election and general elections 2024. He also informed that the remaining IPL partial schedule will be updated on IPL official site. In the first edition of IPL, there were a total of 21 matches. But, in this 17th edition of the Indian premier league, 74 matches will take place across 10 teams. The tournament will include 10 teams, including Chennai Super Kings, champions of the previous season. This IPL tournament is expected to be larger and more gorgeous than the previous IPL 2023.

IPL 2024 Schedule and Match Time Table
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already given the announcement of the dates of IPL 2024 matches and all IPL 2024 news. The competition will start on 22 March, 2024. Schedule for the first IPL match is a match between two teams, Royal Challengers Bangalore and defending champions Chennai Super Kings. Schedules for the first two weeks and first 21 matches of the tournament will remain the same. The matches will be played in the afternoon and at night. It is announced by the BCCI that this cricket league tournament will be played during the day and at night. So, the afternoon matches will start at 3.30 pm and night matches will commence at 7.30 pm. Hopefully the first two home games of this IPL will be so exciting.
List of the IPL 2024 Teams and Team Captains Including Players
In the cricket league games, the IPL title holds the first position as the most popular cricket league in the world. This year it will be better and bigger than ever. So, will include a lot of stadiums including Narendra modi stadium and Chidambaram stadium. Ten teams will be competing for the trophy. Each team has their own unique strengths, cricketing skills and star players. Here is a short brief on IPL 2024 teams:
- Lucknow Super Giants: It is a very new Cricket team from Lucknow. It was founded in 2021. But the team actually had very good results in 2022 and 2023 as a new team. They have also qualified for season league playoffs these years. That is why the expectations about this team are high.
- Delhi Capitals: A popular Cricket team from the capital Delhi. It has been playing since the creation of IPL in 2008. Since then they only once appeared in the final stage of the league in 2020. However, they took 2nd place. It is also a pretty strong team with many new players in the squad.
- Punjab Kings: Also, an old team was created in 2008. However, it never took 1st place in the IPL, but once this team appeared in playoffs, and took 2nd place. It is a pretty hard team to consider and that is why results are also hard to predict.
- Mumbai Indians: It is definitely one of the best Indian Cricket teams. It has had very good results since it was created in 2008. The team won IPL 5 times and also they won Twenty20 Champions League 2 times. That is why very good results are expected from Mumbai Indians.
- Kolkata Knight Riders: It is also a strong team from Kolkata that was created in 2008. They won the IPL 2 times – in 2012 and 2014. Now there are many new players in this team that can also show good results.
- Rajasthan Royals: One of the famous teams that also appeared in 2008 and won in the first IPL final this year. It also had pretty good results in 2013. Their last season in IPL 2023 was not that good and the team ended in 5th place.
- Royal Challengers Bangalore: This is a team with very complicated results. It was created in 2012 and since then won only in 2013. Now they are having a very bad time.
- Sunrisers Hyderabad: This is a team with very complicated results. It was created in 2012 and since then won only in 2016. From 2021 to 2023 they had really bad results, which is why expectations are not really high.
- Chennai Super Kings: It is also one of the strongest Cricket teams in India that won the IPL 5 times since 2008. The last win was in 2023, and the team also has a very good condition. That is why it is expected to have good results in the new 2024 season.
- Gujarat Titans: One of the new teams that was founded in 2021, and almost instantly the team won IPL in 2022. The squad didn’t have any huge changes, which is why games with Gujarant Titans will definitely be interesting.
